Antique Pink Roses Plate Franz Anton Mehlem Bonn Germany, 8 1/4" Collectible Plate
This beautiful antique decorative plate, from the Franz Anton Mehlem Earthenware Factory, features a bouquet of roses. The edge is semi-scalloped in a raised relief and edged in blue and green. The colors in the plate are vibrant, the flowers are rich in detail. Plate measures 8 1/4" in diameter. Condition: good, clean vintage condition. No cracks or chips on the front, but is heavily crazed. An old chip on the back (pic. 8) is not visible from the front. Some of the color on the front has worn away (pic 3). We've detected a few manufacturing anomalies (i.e. dust bits, air bubbles) in the plate glaze. These are part of the manufacturing process of the time (late 1800s, early 1900s) and are not considered damage or defects. Bottom is stamped with the Franz Mehlem mark.
