Frankoma Pottery was an American pottery company, based in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Known for for dinnerware, and other products including figurines, and vases. All Frankoma pottery was made in the Oklahoma from locally dug clay, first the local Ada clay from 1933-1936 in Norman, and then Sapulpa clay starting in 1938. The company was founded by John Frank, who had been a professor in ceramics at the University of Oklahoma (1927 to 1936), used light-hued local Ada clay in his initial products. The name Frankoma was created from Frank's last name and the last three letters of the state of Oklahoma.
