  Pattern: Currier & Ives - Home on the Mississippi (1977 - 1978)
  
  Details: 8" decorative limited edition plate. Fine porcelain collector's plate series produced exclusively by Bing & Grondahl for the Danbury Mint. The series has 12 different scenes based on lithographs designed by Currier & Ives from the 1800's to 1907. Each plate depicts a different Americana scene. "Home on the Mississippi" depicts a river front scene with moss covered trees, a beautiful white house. There's a horse drawn carriage and people walking along the street. In the distance is a Paddlewheeler sailing on the Mississippi river. The plate has the Currier & Ives artwork in the center, framed with a single gold line. The border has a beautiful gold scroll pattern on the border and finished with a gold rim. The back mark the information regarding this collection, maker. Two pre-drilled holes for hanging with wire or a pretty ribbon.
  
  Condition: Plate is in great vintage condition -- no chips, cracks, repairs or scratches.
